Bill Shaw, he’s our man. What was he thinking when he placed the deck scuppers on the 424? My boat is pretty well trimmed to the waterline as best I can, although when the water tanks are low she squats a bit at the stern with a full tank of diesel, which I always maintain full. Damn those dirty decks between the scupper drains. What was he thinking? Anybody else think about adding a pain in the ass little scupper right through the bulwarks at that point? I’m thinking about it if I ever have her laid up for a goodly amount of time. (sorry about the double pics)

Taking what comes as I get it, using it all as much as I can and trying hard to leave all the shit behind.

Yep. I know the feeling. Doesn’t quite drain right.

Incidentally, this message wasn’t transmitted correctly – it basically forwarded all the images, not yours.

      Working on it.

Tor:  I agree with your assessment and comment.  I was
going to say something myself, but I didn’t know if anyone else was having the
same issues.  I am, at times, just getting emails that are a response to something
that I haven’t seen.  Emails without context or background become
annoying.  I thought maybe I wasn’t doing something that I should be to
see what the messages were about.

Some where on the old site somewhere there was writeup about an owner that had put a drain in the swamp area between the existing scuppers. He had epoxied in a nipple under the deck after taking out the core. Then he cut a hole through the deck skin in the middle of the nipple.

Hi Ewan, if it helps at all, I will be always posting from the Pearson 424 site. I know a lot of the guys use the email and I too had gone that route but I am much more comfortable using the site you re-built. Everything I do or try will be from the site and any issues I have I’ll let you know as best I can in computer language (gawd help me)
