    Thanks John!

Do you mind if I add links to these on the site? They’ll be easier to find.

I had a thought – for those of you (owners) struggling with email delivery, what if we offered you a mailbox on the pearson424.org domain for your boat? That way delivery would be guaranteed?
    Ideas? Takers?

I’ve asked our developer to contact you directly to see what’s going on. You should have emails from her at tor@.us
We’d appreciate it if you tried emailing the forum directly again, especially since you have had some success receiving emails recently.
I’m wondering if the emails you forwarded me might be too large with all the photos – there is a limit to what we can process, unfortunately. I suggest 6 MB to be safe.
We’d really appreciate it if you tried posting directly to the site when you can. That’s also open as a way to interact, rather than drawing conclusions. There is enough of that in civil society to the point where ‘assume good intent’ is being tested.
Thanks for your help in troubleshooting.

What is the advantage of the loose foot? I’ve not sailed my boat yet, and in preparation for that, I’m going over my sails and rig.
I’ve only ever sailed with mains on the boom…

If we meet this summer, my boat is in Mattapoisett, on Buzzards Bay. She’s not in the water yet, but soon!!
I’ve all the relationships with the local pub – it would be brilliant to host you all 🙂

Thanks Evan – its totally OK and really appreciated. I am open to others in the community stepping forward to take this on.
Going forward, there are a number of fields in the user profile that should be up to date. One thought is that we communicate to everyone to make sure their details are updated, and then build a page from there manually?
Another option is to talk with our developer Yumna to see if she can get our database fields displaying on a form as a list. Then whenever we change our profile, we’re dynamically generating the list.
If we can all engage, it would be great 🙂

    Outstanding solution.
May I add the link to our projects page?

    Update on progress!

We’re almost there with the repair – just a few more days to finish it up. Here is the updated photo. I have it on good authority that it holds water – I’ll be fitting a recessed garboard drain plug for cleaning the boat out.

My last activity before I get her mostly winterized will be to pressure wash the interior and remove all the years of gunk and dust that have found their way everywhere.

    All,
I bought a marine shaver pro – forget the price, but it’s easy to find on Google, and a hepa vacuum. My boatwright used it and charged me about $1500 to strip the hull to bare laminate. We then let it sit for 6 months and only recently began to repair the laminate with sections of new biaxial and epoxy filler. Total bottom job isn’t cheap.

    All,

My starboard side support broke off in a grounding. I’ve replaced the original pine with a harder, denser mahogany, I forget which type. I’ve glassed it in with biaxial. I’m replacing a couple of stringers with this wood, where they’re little rotted or otherwise damaged.

I will be doubling up the supports on the stringers I’m replacing. Its going to get dusty and itchy aboard for a bit!

All too familiar! I’m replacing and refiberglassing several as part of my refit. The originals were pretty week. Biaxial and a lot more strength coming up.

    With humility and gratitude.

Thanks! I’ll do that. That’s where I’m mounting my electric motor unit, so it may need to change anyway.
