ParticipantHey Ryan,
Check out the coolblue by Technautics. We love it. Keeps the bottom of our icebox below freezing and keeps the beers cold anywhere else. We’ve still yet to upgrade the insulation so that alone should speak for itself!

ParticipantHey Dave,
I don’t have any sagging right now but it doesn’t feel soft in that area so I want to fix the issue before it gets worse…what are you using to jack up the floor while you install supports?Patrick Price
ParticipantDan,
A bit off topic but what the hell! I work out your way as a chief mate on one of the tugs! Home port is Honolulu and loading port is adjacent to Ko’olina. Let me know if you’re ever interested in snagging a drink! Would love to hear about your conversion to electric and how it treats you!Bill, ours is in the same place as Dans and has a manual switch located by the 110 outlet in the Head.
Best of luck.Patrick Price

ParticipantHey Seawater,
That was the first punch in the pocket for “Ruca”…renewed everything and dealt with Joe Mello over at R&W Rope in New Bedford, Mass. Just had her redone about 3 weeks ago so I’m certain he has all of the information on hand. Only issue I had was the aft and forward lowers on the main we’re labeled incorrectly…quick fix though (lightest man aloft! (was not me!))

ParticipantChuck and Tor,
Gentlemen! Words of wisdom!!!
“The only thing that works on an old boat is the owner…”
…I’m stealing that one Chuck!I ended up having a similar experience to Tor and, although I’m not a surveyor myself, I’d like to think the merchant marines taught me a thing or two..(the only thing that works on an old tug is the crew.) The surveyor I hired after was a talented second pair of eyes and helped considerably!
Long story short, after a salty mental marinade, I pulled the trigger on Findrinny. She’s been kept indoors every winter season and boy does it show! Not many bells and whistles but I prefer the blank canvas.
Thank you all again for the help! If you’re around the north shore of Long Island during the warmer months please feel free to reach out.

ParticipantThank you for the kind words! This seems to be an exemplary community! I could not help but prematurely sign up for your website..currently daydreaming of sailing days and awaiting approval. I’ve been in the market recently for a 424 and hope to be part of this family soon! Will be seeing one around the holidays. . If you could guide me in the direction of a surveyor in Rhode Island I would greatly appreciate it!!Again thank you!Happy Holidays!
