I have one. I also have a 3 blade fixed pprop which necessitates it’s use. Mine is held off when trans engaged. Applied when in neutral. A return spring assists in pulling the pads off the disc rotor. What do you need to know. Is this like yours?

Hey folks, it appears we will have 5 possibly 6 424’s in the lower Chesapeake, around the first of June.
Serendipity’s home is Crown Point marina in Hayes, VA.
I could host a get together using the marina facilities for those interested in attending.

Ben..I have the 20 3 blade setup on Serendipity along with a hydraulic prop brake which applies in neutral and releases in gear locking pads onto a disc rotor via a small cylinder connected to the transmission.
I love the push and pull with the fixed prop, but dragging around a 20 inch trash can lid does hinder performance under sail.
Serendipity came with this set up. If I had to fork out for a new brake setup and the installation, I would take a hard look at a folding prop, especially if I was planning for distant shores.

The outer flange rings snap off and are only held in place as press fits around the port and with silicone. Be liberal with the application especially around the port and screw holes. Not a hard job except for removing the old sealant. The gaskets fit a lot better if soaked in hot water before installation. Wipe the gaskets with silicone lube to prevent them from sticking to the port window. The lenses can be rid of crazing with a headlight refinishing kit from a automotive store. Plastic Polish  works wonders

Getting back to and holding 45 is the object not easily obtained in anything short of a strong breeze. Anxious to see if my new full batten main complements  the 110  in front of it.
