ParticipantInteresting idea. How would that affect use of the companionway? I’ve often thought of how to mount a holding tank so it would gravity drain overboard but can’t come up with a viable solution. I thought of using the wet locker next to the ladder for the forward companionway but mine houses the A/C and watermaker.

ParticipantI like the idea of scheduling it so those who’ve wintered over in the tropics can attend when/as they return. I’ll try to work that in.
BTW, Never done this before, so I’m very open to help/suggestions. While I love to sit back on the boat, I’ll try to arrange for some activities we can optionally do.Rich Harris
ParticipantIf this is hull 100, I’ve been on this boat. The previous owner kept her in immaculate condition. You bought a great boat and it looks like she still is.

ParticipantThanks to the guys who sent me logos. I think it will work for my need! Will post results once I finish the work….after fixing the head, the fridge, the autopilot…..

ParticipantDavid and Susan, Thanks for the sails! We’ll be following!

ParticipantCharlie,
Thank you for responding but I’ve arranged to meet with David above in a couple weeks to get his sails.
RichHey Rich. I have a 155 Ginny, roller furl ready. It had split down the leech but was professionally repaired at Schuur sails in Pensacola. Since the repair I raced it in 20+ knots wind and won first in fleet in the 2017 Dauphin Island race. After that my new sail came in and this one has been stored ever since.
Let me know if you are interested.
Thanks
Charlie

ParticipantYes yes yes! Specifically main and mizzen but a full set would be excellent. Can you call me at 301-997-6206?

ParticipantGuys,
Thank you. I passed on the deal. I’ll stick with what I have and replace with new blocks soon. My blocks are serviceable for now but the traveler is on its way to the dump. I am going with Harken simply because I got a brand new pair of end blocks for a 4:1 setup for free.Rich Harris
ParticipantDone. Well worth it.

ParticipantDid you ever sell these sails? I need a full new set.
Rich Harris
ParticipantMine was the Perkins based engine. Once the head went, I had to replace it since major parts like heads are rarer than hen’s teeth if not completely unavailable.
I swapped in a Yanmar and haven’t looked back.
What you do with the engine is completely up to you, but keep in mind that many parts are either not available or cannot be found at all. I weighed the cost of a rebuild with an iffy old engine (if I could have found parts) against new. The New Yanmar was a real shot in the arm financially but I have peace of mind.Rich Harris
ParticipantEvan,
Our Boat #187 will be Forget Knot when we relaunch in a couple months. Gambit had already been removed. Also our powerplant is a Yanmar 4JH57 now.
I’m also fine with my email being shown to other members. I think it wuuld be a great way to connect with other owners.

ParticipantGet yourself a Brothers label maker and black label tape. You can make your own labels for anything you want.
Rich
To add if you are rewiring, which it appears you are a Dymo Rhino labelmaker can also print heatshrink tubes.
Rich Harris
ParticipantWest Marine and Defender both sell label kits as does Jamestown and Fisheries Supply.

ParticipantRich, my PO had it made I believe in Panama when he was down there. It’s made out of a different wood, mahogany, and the thickness of the wood lends itself to being metric vice imperial. All the boards measure right at 10 mm thick not 3/8 or 1/2. It’s a nice shelf to put things on and he used it to keep all his documents for the boat down there so they were out of the way and readily accessible.
