Morning Glory, a ’79 424 and Painkiller an ’80 model both came from the Pearson yard with in mast furling. Earl Chappell, who owns Painkiller, has the original sales receipt and it reflects a cost of $20 something thousand for a manual in mast furling system. An electrical version was also available.

I own Morning Glory now. We are docked at Brunswick Landing Marina in Brunswick GA.  Is the guy’s name Rickert?

    John,

I read your response to Patrick’s question and immediately put a magnet on the tank. It stuck! I have hull number 43. Do you know which hull number was the first 424 to have aluminum fuel tanks?

I just ordered one of each size.I’ll use the small one most of the time and the larger one for special occasions.

Well yes. She has a Pearson burgee and she can add the “424” for a few bucks more. I am going to get two of them; one that is 16 X 24 and a smaller one.

We live on our boat and we use that space to store all of the paper products we use. I used mesh fabric and sewed a loop on each end. Then I inserted a piece of 1 X 1 oak through each loop and hung the 1 X 1s on brackets I made, one on the hull side and the other on the shower stall  side. The paper stays dry and finding what we need is easy.

I am not a fan of Marelon valves. I have seen too many of them break. Usually its the handle that goes and that could be problematic if you needed to close the valve because up stream broke.
