Not being a mizzen sail expert, not sure a travelor adds much benefit to the sail.I added a radar arch with davits to my ketch rig[also to add solar panels].At the top radar arch[davit bar],I secured and connected a sheet to the mizzen boom with pullies. From there the sheet runs thru the mizzen boom and down the mast.To sheet in the mizzen sail, pull down on the sheet at the mast.To let out the sail, let out the sheet then cleat when desired sail set is achieved.Eliminated all the rigging and hardware at the back of the boat and cleaned it up-works great.

I am heading from Little river,sc Dec 12th or 13th to Merriitt Island,Fl-going outside -staying there till Jan 4th -then back and fourth to Raleigh to work, returning boat from Merritt to Coquina Harbor,Myrtle beach around March end.Crew of 4 both ways-have had same sailing crew for several years.Significant other will fly down.Less stress on both of us.The PE sailed everywhere single handed-got serverely sick, made it to Trinidad, married the nurse.

Gee-I have 3 GPS’s-2 antennas on the stern rail-the 3rd is an antenna only connected to my lap top at the nav station with $50 GPS antenna/software.The button antenna lays on the shelf above the table. The lap top has chart plotter software-bootlegged commercial-no cost to me.All GPS’s read about the same.Yeah-talking about networking information-I can look at my depth sounder and knot meter on the cabin/cockpit wall beside the cabin door OR I can look to my right at the helm and read both on my GPS.Maybe I need another GPS on my left.Now-down below-the info is handy being networked to the laptop.

I’ve screwed up injectors twice in a previous boat running high rpms-once for survival.Dirty injectors  dump really ugly black pitch out the exhaust that floats away slowly.Professional cleaning and polishing does the trick- I remember they will test them first and recommend replacing individually as needed.A lot of diesels on the road-it’s a common problem.

I installed one 16000 BTU same place.I wanted to run one vent of 3 vents to service the V berth.Running inside the upper cabinets it was a very tight cut and fit just a the bulkhead separating v berth from main cabin. The other consideration was to go down under the floor boards and up at the v berth but I was concerned with needing much more insulation-so I did neither.I have 3 vents coming out in the main cabin and it doesn’t do that bad in Myrtle beach,sc even in 95 degrees and only 16000 btu’s.Installed 3 years ago.

I’ll respond- I hate the standing water from front to back in the deep bilge.Sure,it’s only an inch or two,but to me,too much.I’d much prefer to have 3-6 inches of concrete sloped toward the front and then a small 2 by 2 ft sump with about 1-2 inches of water.I have many times thought of adding the concrete. My previous 42 ft boat had a 2 by 2 sump-it was very easy to keep clean. You also know right away if you have a leak.
I am about to install a small bilge that will empty most of the standing water.I have a larger pump for real needs.
I’d add the concrete but I’m afraid it may cause other problems and or breakup overtime if it isn’t done right.  Have you ever seen another boat with such a deep, long canal of water? It’s my only complaint.I’m with Rich-find me a light ,durable, easy to apply filler.

I ordered new plastic replacement lens and have replaced two. It’s a good project for a rainy day.You could just as easily remove a lens and have a tempered glass one cut to size. You have to remove all the old sealant from the frame and using sealant caulk the new one inplace-kind of messy.Being lazy 2 of the lens cleaned up pretty well with brass and metal polish.

I removed all the non-skid tape, removed steps, sanded everywhere, added horizontal grooves to steps, applied 3 coats ultimate sole. Also had installed new floors. But I love the steps with grooves and just varnish-clean,non-skid,easy to keep up,and look great.

Well thanks MR. Silver Heels-I’ve  always wondered every time I’ve seen  the name-which is quite often- : >
so my boat- Time in a Bottle– another name from  romantic  song verses by Jim Croce.Of course with a lot of other associations.
So “hi ho hi ho ! silver ,  away she goes- into the wild blue yonder-  heeled over and a flying- away from ole Green Cove! Into the world beyond , final destiny unknown ,hi ho hi ho silver away–    got a tune to go with that?
