Participant16,500 btu Mermaid installed in the starboard locker at the base of the
companionway ladder.
Used only in the marina.
Agree with Joe it handles most of the boat most of the time. On really hot
days we close the aft cabin.

Sorry for the delay. I did go by Academy and I bought two more lights. I
also went to Key West, Dry Torgugas, Tampa and Gulf Shores, Alabama, so I
haven’t been very good at responding to emails.
The light is by SeaSense and it is called an LED Task light. They are in
the boating section hanging on the pegboard. They list for $12.99 and they
have 18 led’s. I have replaced several of the smaller lights with these
and they work great. However for the overhead cabin lights I have just put
in the West Marine 6.5 inch light that has 36 led’s. It is very bright and
I plan to replace all of the cieling lights with them. Through Port Supply
they are about $33 each. The best discounts seem to be on those items that
have a West Marine logo.
We did an “amp cost” test with each light and compared them with the
led’s. The incandescednt bulbs jumped the meter about 2 amps for each lamp
while the led’s (even the 36 led ceiling lamp) barely moved the needle, if
any at all. The Dr. LED anchor light was negligible. I am all in for LED
lights now. The only thing is that they get cheaper the more you
procrastinate.

Sorry, that’s not the one I have. I have the reading lamps that were
mounted above the aft bunk. The bulb looks like a projector bulb and
probably uses the same amps. They are swivil also, but I never saw the
originals that would have been in the main salon. My PO had already
replaced them I guess. BTW, Academy Sports has, in their boating section,
LED fixtures that are plug and play replacements for the small lamps that I
am refering to over the aft bunk. They are $12 ea., have 12 LEDs, and are
in a white fixture with switch.

ParticipantI installed a sender 4 years ago (bought at West Marine – has arm that

Not true – you can do it one-armed. Also, you can remove the plywood
between the port lazarette and work that way. But the six screws remove
the measuring unit and a new one will have the same pattern. There is only
one wire to the unit (the tank should be grounded already).Easy peasy. Although I haven’t done mine yet. I just polished and
rebedded my sight glass and called it good.Bob

I’m letting it soak in PB Blaster to see if I can break it loose.
This is indeed a silly way to check the fuel level. However, installing
a
new fuel sender unit without pulling the engine and tank looks like it
would require a boneless 2 foot midget. Not many of these running O’ahu.
Of course, the deck peep hole is only large enough for one arm at atime.
