I am after the long (21″ +-) aluminum ones that open. These are in the head, shower and above the stove on our boat. I had one sand blasted, zinc chromated and painted and it looks good enough for now (putting $ in other places right now). I’d be happy to pay for shipping and contribute to the cruising kitty if these are the right ones. P said he would send me pix later.

    Mahalo (thanks)

Can I ask how many quarts of paint did you use for this project? I’ll have to get it through West, which has a very limited inventory here in Honolulu. Ordering takes a couple of weeks and I would very much like to have all the paint I need arriving there the same time as I do.

I spoke with Patrick earlier this year about the possibility of purchasing one of the original long opening ports from you after you replace yours. Do you have one that is still in one piece?

    Thanks

We’ve been preoccupied with keeping the boat safe from the tsunami, but we are still here. Lesson learned: we have to be prepared to spend days or weeks offshore if a tsunami hits as the bays will probably be filled with debris. Next time we’ll have more than one bottle of wine aboard! Our sea trial of Lady Leanne provided the same experience. We were in about 20k trades on 8′ rollers in the lee of Waikiki. With all the rags up (and an experienced crew, no staysail) we topped 8 on our GPS when we came out of the lee of Diamond Head. For a lake sailor, it was like discovering the fairer sex for the first time.

Lady Leanne’s number is routed into a board that was affixed (glassed?) onto the aft wall of the the aft cabin hanging locker.

Lady Leanne has her tank just forward of the deep bilge. I believe that it’s the original position. The PO mounted a macerator just below the hatch located between the galley drawer cabinet and the midship companionway stairs. The macerator is abaft and above the tank.

Talk about timely, I was poking around under the sole today and noticed the 2×4 glassed to the hull had a nut missing with the bolt backed out half way. I didn’t have time to look for others before a day sail and quickly repaired the loose one.

Any idea how many of these 2×4 studs are under there?

The PO removed the original teak toe rails and installed new 1.5″ thick teak toe rails all the way around, including some beautiful rounded pieces around the outside of the cockpit. I’s sure it wasn’t cheap, but it really looks good. My son keeps it well oiled when he’s not squiring coeds around the lagoon.

It’s a little chunky, but very nautically attractive.

Lady Leanne’s PO installed SS handrails and removed the teak eyebrow. He also installed 3 rung lifelines, probably a CG requirement for his daysail opearation. I do like the look!

I found a Pearson Yacht Owners Association burgee on Lady Leanne. It has the Pearson trident with PYOA on it. I do fly it!

Thanks for the tip! I’ll try the vinegar paper trick to see if I can give it a clean “wipe””.

Linus: Lady Leanne is documented. The transfer of ownership just involved sending in an updated form. I just did the annual CG paperwork update through the mail. I think you could probably do all on line as it is a simple process.

Wow Patrick. The portholes look really good! Did you have the non-opening portlights in there previously?
