Ah! The boat is in the south! The screaming blower is probably dirt dobbers. The buggers build their clay hotels in every place they can squeeze into. I had the same sound and it cleared up when I got the nest out. They make a mess all over the boat. You should also make sure the drain to the LP locker is clear.
After all the talk about the vents earlier I think I will take out one of the bilge vents, my lazerette is full of hoses. With the gooseneck on the transom the exhaust is all over the place in there. Getting one 4″ hose out sure would help clear things up a bit.

All this talk is pulling me into another project. Is railmakers.com the correct web site?

I stepped out and got a Victron Inverter for the simple fact that it was the only unit that I found that would shift from charging to inverter when the generator is overloaded. I have yet to see this happen because my air conditioner is small but I will have to turn on a hair dryer and microwave at the same time and see what happens.

Those of you who use a Honda unit, where do place it when you run it? I think because the cockpit drains exit below the waterline they would not vent any CO. I am thinking of using it on the swim platform but I am concerned about it being close to the salt water. Maybe I should just shut up and go sailing for a while and figure it out.

When I got mine Mayberry supply had the best price, free shipping and no
sales tax. I saved over $300.00 over the local honda dealer.

I’ve used the terminal sealant sold by auto part stores and it is red and nasty. I’m addicted to spray lithium grease. Easy to reapply and clean up. The red stuff is sticky and runs, yuck.

If you make it to Oriental let me know. The same space is available if you don’t jump off shore from Beaufort.

Finished the panel not installed. As you know I’m still working on a 2 year repower and windlass install. No telling how long it will take me to cut the hole for the panel.

If you make it up the waterway as far as Oriental I can provide a slip and a
bike to get around town or you can find a spot at the town dock that is free
but sometime hard to get to. If you won’t make it that far let me know
maybe I can meet you in Beaufort for a tour and a beer.
The light house at Cape Lookout is a couple hours out of Beaufort inlet.
The beaches are as nice as any in the world, it’s a national seashore and
holding is usually good. Ocracoke Island is reminiscent of Old Key West
before the invasion and if you come up this far is a couple of hours out of
the way but it is great. The channel can be tricky but usually there is a
ferry that you can follow in. There are National Park docks near the ferry
terminal with a nice bath house that are very reasonable.

Believe it or not I have just finished a small panel that I am installing next to the AC cord plug in the cockpit. From the suggestions that I got from the group I will be putting in: fuel gauge, ignition switch, plug for spot light and a switch for the running lights. With room to spare for a remote mic and some other stuff when I think of it.

I contacted Cummins and they called me back and said that the pressure should be around 80 at idle. He also said that I should have 85 at fast idle. I guess I’m just worried that the gauge only reads to 80 so it is always pegged. I will be looking for another gauge with a different read out.

I looked at the Knipex web page. What is the hook? I don’t see anything different about the pliers. Are there some specialized ones that I missed? I love a new tool to play with, I can’t seem to get the boat out of the slip might as well play with my tools.

You’re right I really haven’t taken pictures with the anchor in a bind. I did try it without the chain stopper and had the same problem. The clutch is slipping so what Quent said might be the case. I just didn’t want to put too much stress on the roller, I’m a little chicken and as usual I ran out of time and had to return to work before I was able to resolve the problem. It sure would be nice to have the anchor jump right up on the roller so I can use the switch by the wheel to raise the anchor when short handed.

What did you use to insulate the vdrive? Did you just insulate the hatch?
