I”ll be Annapolis for the boat show if the weather clears up here in NYC.
    Would love to get together.
I have the shop manual but no way to copy it for now.

I’ve seen that exact thing here in the NY harbor. Boats lying stern to the wind due to the current.
Not sure what to do about it. Suggestions?

Sorry for the long delay in responding. Ive been traveling down the Hudson River and internet is spotty at best. I am in NYC now and have a good connection.

Some models of the E300 have that shaft and some model don’t. If you have the shaft than the pump you have suggested will work. If you don’t have that shaft, then the case will need to be opened and the shaft installed. It depends on which model you have.
Mine does not have the shaft. Just a hole with a plug in it. I have the shop manual.
Somehow Ive lost most of this thread. Who else besides Pete and I have been fooling around with a Kubota.

The missing shaft is gear driven from the inside. If you did find the shaft, to install it you’d have to tear the engine apart.
My solution is to use a 12v water puppy for cooling. I’ll have it come on after the engine starts up ( oil pressure switch). I ve been working on it as I travel down the Hudson river.
I’ll let you know how I make out.

I knew them being ut of phase from the text books. I guess what Tor says makes sense. If I leave on slack tide at Cap May, the water is still coming out of the river as I travel up river. I need to wait an hour or two until it slack tide there (up river) also.
I have xtide32 running in the tool tray so I know the times at the different stations. My C-80 gives me tide and currents also.
    thanks guys

Some days I think my friends are strangers.
The leg from Va to Bermuda will include Paul L (424 Owner). I sailed with him last year on Walt P’s boat to Bermuda. I will also have a friend of Walt’s who comes highly recommended although I have not met him. I will also be bringing my surveyor, who has done a bunch of coastal deliveries but no offshore. He’s well respected in the racing community in Lake Ontario so I hope to learn some sail trim…..
Paul L will be joining me for the 2nd leg to Bermuda along with my dock neighbor and his 22 year old son. Niether of which have any offshore experience but are good sailors and good company…. So – all in all I don’t think I’ll have to kill anybody.

I joined OPO last year and was able to gain some offshore experience. It is a little scarey joining a boat you dont know and a captaion who you dont know either. It worked out well and have made some great contacts. One of which paid for me to fly to St Martin last winter and work on his boat… all expenses paid…..

I took my injectors to a diesel truck shop down the road. He charged me 150 bucks to rebuild all 4.

At the time the pictures were taken, we had removed the starter and used that bracket to lower the engine into the locker. Lots of room to lower it……

    Kubota EL300 – supposed to be either a 5 or 6 HP.
I had to marineize it. I didn’t have alot of time so I bought the heat riser. Purchased the heat exchanger. Both from NextGen.
