What I’ve done is to load the 1st 125 feet in such a manner that all works well. I normally use 125 for around my area on weekends. After that, I may have to use Rich Carters approach….. knock down the castle with a boat hook.

I can’t speak to the PVC coupling thing your looking for. BUT… and I can’t stress this enough. Be very careful about where and how the chain enters the CHAIN locker. If the angle is too shallow, a muddy chain will stick. You need enough height to allow the chain to pile up under the pipe without the links becoming “solid” and jamming the windlass. Also if the pile gets too high and “falls over” then the whole thing becomes tangled.
    Just more to think about.

Lee, I too went with SeaFrost. I installed the condenser under the aft berth in the middle compartment. It is a very quiet unit. I turned the fan unit around (under Cleve’s suggestion) and ran 3″ dryer exhaust ducting through to the port sail locker. There is a louvered panel in the compartment where the condenser is. So, it draws air from the inside of the boat and exhausts it into the sail locker. Not real close to the Ice box but the could not come up with anything better. I thought about under the ice box
in the bildge but thought the sea water vapors might be harmful to the condenser.

I have found that duct tape never works….. the epoxy eats it away. Softens it to a point where the resin just drips out….. and makes a tremendous mess. I have found that the blue masking tape works very well. Just the regular blue tape used for painting. For some reason the expoy (WEST) does not attack the adhesive. Go Figure.

I only needed to buy the alternator, as I already had 2 Xantrex external regulators (leftover spares from other boats).

You should all check out “The BatteryShack” in Marathon Fl. Delco High output alternators, 100a in my case. I’ve had their alternators on my last 2 boats. Simple, either external or internal 3 stage regulators at about 1/2 the price of anything else on the market.

The riggers opinion would be arguable depending the exact installation, I suppose. I can not even begin to understand why the Marine Air-x would be inconsistent with the warranty being at the top of the mizzen, away from mnay other objects.
I have mine mounted the same as Jack Tylers and many many other Ketches.

Put the Wind Generator on top of the mizzen…. then you won’t have any issues.

In either solution (inner forestay or solent) if you attached the wire high enough up the mast, you would not need runners.
I believe this was from a discussion on Toss’s own web site.

Look for John’s web site SV SARAH and the link to WHOOSH. The plans are there for the mast tang and the deck fitting. I used those plans to make my setup.
Attached as Bob describes on deck and about 1 foot below the black band on the mast so that no runners are needed.
