A lot of people say the side loading door is a waste of energy. But I gotta tell you, since I put in my side loading door I am in and out of the refer in less than 10 secs. The old way of retrieving a drink, you’d have to open the top and take out half the contents to find a beer hidden under the lettuce somewhere……

The Over Size width and pilot cars depends on the states he goes through, the time of day he goes through them and the weekday.

I have my 2 x60 W panels mounted over the top of my davits. The mizzen booms clears them by 3 or 4 inches.

Quickly, and I can explain later when I have more time. The pulpits have to come off.
Other than that your good. Some states will require an escort because of the beam. The trucking company will take care of all of that.
I had my trucked from Fla to NY 7 years ago. 4300.$$

    Hi Paul,
I love the storage in the port locker. My Stb locker is full of batteries that I am not going to move. I figure the weight of the generator will offset the 300 ft of chain I have up in the pointy end if I put the generator in the back of the boat.

John and anyone else who has a generator mounted on the boat as opposed to a portable one:
If you had to do it over again, would you go for the portable or mounted generator.
I am trying to figure the PITA factor with continuing to work on mounting my 6 hp KUBOTA in the lazzerete.
I want to put in a decent size water maker and maybe generate some DC without having to run the red beast.
I want to put in the water maker to eliminate the “run to a water source” or hauling and lugging of same.
    Thoughts, ideas, encouragement, discouragement?

I think it will fit….. I got some final measuring to do. I was interested in how they mounted it. Do you have any pictures?
Do you use it just for generating or do you have a water maker in there too?

    Tor,
There has been extensive discussions about exactly what you want to do with the Honda on SSCA web site. You don’t have to be a member to search. Jack Tyler a fellow 424 owner has a few thoughts on that also.
I believe there are issues with powering a 20 amp charger from that generator. I could be wrong though.
