First of all, (for better or worse) I am the helmsman on our boat. On
more than one occassion over the past ~10 yrs of owning our boat, it has
terrified me to have David on deck while I tried to hold the boat
“steady” as he was trying to reduce sail (too late – of course). We
have never had an accident in these situations but I have always felt
it was only a matter of time. The pulpits have taking a huge load off.
Dave finds them comfortable to work in. They are solid. They are tall
enough for him (6′ 7″) and not uncomfortable for me (5 ‘6″). I love the
    middle rung.

Installing them took a wkend. We drilled out appropriate sized holes,
filled the holes with solid epoxy and then installed the pulpits the
    next day.

I originally hesitated because it was yet another $500+. I now think
    they were a bargain.

handling. I’ll need several days to polish and package rails. I can
also make another pair if needed there are two more emails regarding

    I know ! I know!! pick me!!!

We did this once.. Froze the refrigerant right up. Really hard on the
compressor. Made nothing cold for several days. The system did recover
and we felt like idiots once we realized what we had done.

Use the dry ice in a good cooler —- then transfer the rock hard
contents to your nice (not overly) cold freezer.

The brochure on dry ice says don’t use it in a working

I would like to add that we have the perception that the v-drive was
built for power boats where one finds prolonged high speed use. On our
sailboats “high speed” is 6-7 kts and the usual day would be < 2 hrs of
engine time. It seems that the Walter was way over built for our uses
    ( which is a good thing )

We have a froli in the aft berth.. We love it.

As for the slats… in our v berth (and aft berth) one would have to
about 8 inches wide and sleep right next to the wall to “feel” those
slats. Regardless I’m going to ask our friend (who sells froli) about
    the slats.

To add yet another finish, we are currently using Semco Teak Sealer,
color natural. Every year we apply 2-4 coats. sometimes we wash the
wood with dish detergent in between. Application can be done with a
sock so it’s really fast. Wood looks plain – but doesn’t gray out

Anyone else have a suggestion? The three drawings are the sail plan for earlier sloops, traditional cabin with 'C' galley and deck layout.
